Marvel Movies Quiz: Can You Collect All Six Infinity Stones?
Twelve questions, six cosmic realms, one gauntlet. From the first Iron Man suit to the record-breaking Spider-Man: Brand New Day, find out how well you really know the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When Iron Man landed in May 2008, nobody could have predicted that one armored billionaire would launch the most successful film franchise in history. Eighteen years later, the Marvel Cinematic Universe counts 38 feature films, dozens of interconnected characters and a story that now stretches across the multiverse — with Avengers: Doomsday arriving on December 18, 2026.
That sheer volume is exactly what makes a good Marvel movies quiz so satisfying. Casual viewers remember the big moments: the snap, the portals, the shield being passed on. True fans remember the small ones: which planet hides the Soul Stone, who directed the first team-up, and what year Tony and Steve visited in the Time Heist. This quiz is built to test both.
Every question below has been checked against official release information and box office reporting, and each answer comes with a short explanation so you walk away knowing more than when you started.

How the Quiz Works
This isn't a standard ten-in-a-row trivia list. The twelve questions are grouped into six realms, each named after one of the Infinity Stones that drove the MCU's first saga.
Answer two questions in each realm — Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time and Soul.
Get both right and that realm's stone lights up on your gauntlet. One right gives it a faint glow.
See an instant explanation after every answer, then a full review and your hero rank at the end.
No timer, no sign-up and no spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday. Retake it as often as you like.

The MCU in a Nutshell
The Marvel Cinematic Universe began as a gamble. Marvel Studios, led by producer Kevin Feige since 2007, decided to finance its own films and connect them into one shared story. Iron Man (2008) proved the idea could work, and its post-credits scene with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury promised something bigger: the Avengers Initiative.
In 2009, The Walt Disney Company agreed to buy Marvel Entertainment for about $4 billion, giving the studio the resources to scale up. What followed was the Infinity Saga — 23 films across Phases One to Three, from Iron Man to Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) — all quietly building toward Thanos and his hunt for the six Infinity Stones.
The Multiverse Saga
After Avengers: Endgame, the franchise shifted into the Multiverse Saga, covering Phases Four to Six. It opened on the big screen with Black Widow (2021) and introduced alternate realities through films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Phase Six began with The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July 2025.
The saga's endgame is now in sight. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios co-production directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, opened on July 31, 2026 as the 38th MCU film. Next comes Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the franchise as Doctor Doom. Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to follow in December 2027.

5 Tips for a Perfect Score
- Know release order and story orderQuiz writers love the gap between the two. Captain America: The First Avenger is set during World War II and Captain Marvel in 1995, so both come early in the timeline despite being released later.
- Follow the stonesMost of the Infinity Saga's plot can be traced by asking who holds which stone and when. Learn the cheat sheet above and you'll unlock a whole category of questions.
- Never skip the creditsPost-credits scenes introduce characters, tease villains and set up sequels. They are a favorite source of trick questions.
- Learn the directorsA handful of names cover a lot of ground: Jon Favreau (Iron Man), Joss Whedon (the first two Avengers), James Gunn (Guardians), Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) and the Russo brothers.
- Remember the record-breakersBox office questions usually focus on a few headline films: Endgame, No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine and now Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
